Please join us as we welcome our guest speaker, Flight 4 member, Col (Ret) Mace Carpenter. He will discuss F-117 operations and impact during Operation ALLIED FORCE and include some discussion on how the F-117 operated. Colonel (ret) Mace Carpenter graduated from Centralia High School, in Centralia, Illinois in 1976 and the US Air Force Academy in 1980. He holds Master’s Degrees in Public Administration, National Security Strategy, Military Strategy, and Political Science. His assignments include: • UPT at Laughlin AFB, TX • 21st Tactical Air Support Squadron at Shaw AFB, SC as a FAC in the O-2A and a jump-FAC • F-111A upgrade training at Mountain Home AFB, ID • 77th Fighter Squadron at RAF Upper Heyford, F-111E instructor pilot, supervisor of flying, and nuclear alert force commander. • 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, flying the F-111F in the 492nd, 494th, and 495th Fighter Squadrons--operations officer, assistant operations officer, functional check flight instructor, flight commander & 30 missions during Operations DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM • Air Command and Staff College & the School of Advanced Airpower Studies, Maxwell AFB • Air Staff, Strategy Division, serving as the Chief of Air Force Strategy Development • Holloman AFB, NM, 8th Fighter Squadron Operations Officer, F-117/T-38 flight instructor/examiner, 49th Operations Group Chief of Standards and Evaluation, and Commander of the 9th Fighter Squadron--combat missions during Operation ALLIED FORCE & Chief Stealth Planner at the Combined Air Operations Center in Vicenza, Italy • National War College • Commander, 32 Air Operations Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany • Chief of the Strategy Division for the CFACC during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM • Joint Staff, June 2003-July 2007—J8 Deputy Division Chief of the Joint Capabilities Division, J5 Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Division Chief, and the US Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee Pentagon Operations Officer. • Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair and Assistant Professor at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces • 3,350 flying hours in the F-111A/E/F; O-2A; F-117; and AT-38 We will accept reservations/cancellations until noon, Tuesday, September 10th. Dinner cost is $45; please pay via cash or check made out to NCF#4.
