Wiley Post Flight 46 Monthly Flight Meeting
Tinker Club
March Flight Meeting
Speaker: Art Long
Our speaker for March will be Art Long. Art graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1968. He had passed the Air Force pilot assessment test but an opening in the ROTC program never materialized so he ended up in Pensacola, FL for Aviation Officer Candidate School. After earning his wings he reported to the F-4 training squadron at Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego. Art made two combat cruises to Vietnam as a Radar Intercept Officer in Fighter Squadron 151 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway. The Midway's 1972-1973 Cruise holds the record for the longest cruise of the Vietnam war, spending 205 days in combat operations against North Vietnam. He has over 200 carrier arrested landings. Art owned his own software development business for 25 years and is now retired serving as a director on four non profit boards in Pawnee county. Come on out and join your fellow Flight 46 members for what should be a great presentation. Bring a potential new member.
