SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2018
Speaker: Gp Capt Paul "Barnsley" Taylor, Royal Air Force
The British, French and Commonwealth contingents here at Maxwell AFB are holding their annual Remembrance Day Service on Sunday 11th November 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery Annex in Montgomery, where 150 of allied WW2 airmen are buried; all faculty, staff, students, and family are welcome to attend. The ceremony will commence promptly at 1030, and will commemorate the British, French and other Allied War Dead with short speeches, prayers and a 2-minute silence at 11:00. We will conclude with the laying of wreaths before we depart at about 11:15. Dress for the occasion is Service Dress for military personnel and equivalent attire for civilians. Each year, the ceremony attracts a modest but enthusiastic following, and we very much hope that you will be able to join us. The local Association Francaise has kindly agreed to hold a Reception after the proceedings at a location TBD.
